Attach Flex Pipe To Pvc

PVC pipe is not traditionally used for an air duct but it can be attached to flex pipe to move air from one place to another. To do this you need to splice the two sections of pipe together, and the outer diameter of the inner core of the flex pipe must be smaller than the inner diameter of the PVC. You can get the materials for this project at your local home improvement store. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Make two cuts through the pipe liner, perpendicular to the end of the pipe, using the utility knife. The cuts should be 2 inches long and on opposite sides of the pipe.

2. Peel back the outer liner of the pipe to separate it from the inner core.

3. Slide the hose clamp over the end of the PVC pipe. Insert the inner core of the flex pipe into the end of the PVC.

4. Fold the outer liner of the flex pipe over the PVC pipe. Slide the hose clamp over the outer liner.

5. Secure the hose clamp by tightening the screw with the screwdriver.
