Diy Rain Water Tank

Rainwater conservation is one of the oldest methods of being eco-friendly and conserving our natural resources. Very expensive systems exist just to capture rain water, but you can do it for cheap and within an hour. You can buy all of the supplies at a home and garden store. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Select the area from which you're going to receive the rain water. The best place is a rain spout/gutter run off from the roof of a house or a shed so you can catch as much rain water as possible.

2. Cut the rain gutter downspout one foot higher than the barrel. The barrel will stand around 3 1/2 feet tall.

3. Place the barrel underneath the downspout and check to make sure the water is going to drip into it. Place the mosquito netting across the top of the barrel and stretch it tight.

4. Tie the netting to the barrel with the rope. This ensures the netting doesn't blow away and keeps a clean tank for you to consume from.
