Make A Rain Machine

When making a film, one way to create a romantic or dramatic scene is to add some rain. This rain machine is easy and inexpensive to make and still helps to set the mood for your movie scene. This rain machine is also portable and lightweight.

Instructions

1. Make an "X" out of the 5-foot boards. Connect them in the middle with a bolt.

2. Miter cut the ends of the 3-foot boards so they fit together at a 90-degree angle.

3. Lay the 3-foot boards across the "X" to create a box inside the "X." One end of each 3-foot board needs to attach to a section of a 5-foot board. Secure them together with wood screws.

4. Place the end of the soaker hose 1 1/2 inches from the center of the "X." Zip tie it to one of the boards. Spiral the hose out and around the cross frame. Hold the hose in place with zip ties. It needs to look similar to a spider web or a dream catcher.

5. Screw the plastic cap onto the end of the hose at the center of the rain machine. Attach one eye bolt to each section of the "X," 2 inches from the end.

6. Feed the rope through the holes in the eye bolts to hang the machine. Find a sturdy tree limb to hang the machine from. Double check that the machine is out of the camera's visual range.
