Install A Rain Diverter

If you watch how the rain falls and runs down your roof you may notice the rain comes down harder in one given area. Luckily, there is a way you can correct this issue by installing rain diverters which will push the flow of the rainfall over into different areas of the roof. This can also be effective when you want to remove the rainfall over your car or where you walk through when exiting your home. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Loosen the second row of shingles over the area where you want the rain diverted. Use a putty knife to lift up on the shingles. Pulling up with your fingers may prove to be too forceful and you may end up damaging your roof.

2. Slide the diverter under the layer of shingles so the shingles can lay flat over the base of the rain diverter.

3. Nail the rain diverter in place. Place the nails toward the back of the diverter, close to where the shingles are attached to the roof.

4. Apply Liquid Nail or roofing cement over the nails. This is going to help secure the shingles over the rain diverter.

5. Press and hold the shingles down onto the diverter so an appropriate bond can be created.
