Install A Garden Watering System

A garden watering system can be as elaborate or as simple as desired. Getting the proper amount of water at the right times to the crops or plants is essential to a healthy, prosperous garden. Some of the options can include manual or automatic systems. Use the following tips to install a garden watering system. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Decide on the size of the project. Home gardens require a substantially smaller watering system than a farm or large crop. Take measurements of the area to be watered.

2. Identify all of the plants within the garden and calculate their watering needs to determine the layout of the irrigation material.

3. Travel to a home improvement store such as Lowe's or Home Depot. Consult with a qualified irrigation professional to purchase the correct size system and the materials needed to install it.

4. Lay out the plans on paper first. Decide where to place the plumbing and where the water will be coming from. Dig a freshwater well to provide the amount of water necessary for proper irrigation, if needed.

5. Dig the trenches for the system and place the system into the planned area. Connect the system to an adequate water supply and test.

6. Check all connections and joints for leaks and fissures. Correct any spray patterns and adjust the flow of water to properly get the best amount of coverage and distance.
