Diy Garbage Can Cart

A wooden cart can be used to transport a full garbage can to the curb. You can make a cart for your garbage can by building a platform and then adding wheels. This will allow you to easily move the garbage around in your garage or when you need to set it out for pickup.

Instructions

1. Measure the width and length of your garbage can with the tape measure and add 1 inch to each dimension. Make a note of the measurements.

2. Transfer the measurement for the width and length to a sheet of 3/4-inch plywood. Make a cut mark with the pencil. Cut the plywood sheet to the required size with the table saw.

3. Measure the width of each side of the cut piece of plywood. Cut additional pieces of plywood that are the width of each side and 14 1/4 inches high.

4. Transfer the width of each side of the plywood that you previously measured to a 2-by-4. Cut pieces to match the measurements with the circular saw.

5. Set each piece of 2-by-4 together to form the shape of a square. Drill pilot holes into the corners using the power drill. Secure the pieces together with screws.

6. Set your plywood on top of the 2-by-4 frame. Secure the plywood to the frame with screws using the power drill.

7. Set each piece of plywood that you cut in step 3 to each side of the frame. Secure the plywood to the frame with screws.

8. Place an L-bracket at the top of each corner of the box. Secure the L-bracket with screws to hold the sides together.

9. Set the box upside down on the ground.

10. Place a caster in each corner of the box. Drill a pilot hole into the bottom of the frame with the power drill. Secure the casters to the bottom of the frame with screws.

11. Set the completed cart right side up. Insert the garbage can into the cart.
