Plug Drip A Line Of Sprinkler Holes

Goof plugs can stop leaks in drip irrigation lines for gardens and flower beds.

Drip irrigation lines are good for low-volume watering of flower beds, gardens and other delicate plants. Drip lines use low amounts of water pressure to gently water through micro sprinklers or directly from the line. You make drip line holes by punching holes into the main irrigation line. When you make a mistake, or want to plug a drip line that's no longer needed, you can install "goof plugs." Goof plugs are just what they sound like: designed to permanently seal holes you no longer want in your drip lines. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Turn on the drip lines. Depending on how your system was installed, you may have to set a timer to the "Run" position, or simply turn on the water faucet.

2. Identify the leaks or lines you want to plug. Turn off the water to the drip lines.

3. Pull out any drip lines that may still be attached to the main supply line. You can pull the drip lines or micro sprinklers straight out of the main supply line, but it may take some force for the drip line to pull free.

4. Line up the pointed end of the goof plug with the hole in the main line.

5. Firmly press the plug into the hole until you hear it snap into place. Continue inserting goof plugs until you have plugged all the unwanted active lines.

6. Turn on the water to the drip lines to check the seals of the goof plugs.
