Hoppe's makes a range of gun cleaning products.
Hoppe's Elite makes a range of gun cleaning products. Hoppe's sells cleaners, cloths and tools designed to keep your firearms immaculate and in top working condition. Without the knowledge of use these supplies, they are approximately as effective as leaving the rifle out in the rain. Use the supplies with basic gun cleaning techniques to maintain and keep your firearms in quality working order.
Fluids and Cleansers
Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner is used to clean the barrel and bore of the firearm. Add the fluid to the barrel cloth -- also available through Hoppe's -- and insert the cloth through the slit on the end of a barrel cleaning tool. Push the fluid-saturated cloth into the barrel, and pull back and forth. Hoppe's Elite Gun Cleaner works to break down carbon on the inside of the barrel.
Rod Cleaning
The Hoppe's Elite Rod Cleaning System is made to use with the recommended fluids. The rod is a long, straight tool with a slit at the end. Gun-cleaning cloths are threaded through the slit and then soaked with the cleaning fluid -- or bore gel -- to clean the carbon out of the firearm barrel.
Gun Oil
Hoppe's Elite Gun Oil is applied to all metal parts of the firearm. After you are finished cleaning the firearm, add the gun oil to a rag; wipe down the gun metal with the oil. Leave the oil on the firearm when putting it into storage. The gun oil helps prevent rusting when the firearm is in storage.
Cleaning Jags
If you are a muzzle loading hunter -- or use black-powder rifles -- the cleaning jag is the preferred tool. The cleaning jag slides into the black-power or muzzle-loader to clean out the accumulated carbon and sediment. Place a gun cloth on the tip of the cleaning jag; push it deep into the barrel to clean it completely. Soak the cloth in the cleansing fluid to get the muzzle-loader or black-power rifle in clean condition.
