I Don'T Know Use My Pressure Washer

Car washes use pressure washers.

A pressure washer is a cleaning tool designed to spray water at amazingly high pressures. The washer pumps a stream of water through a spray hose and out a spray gun at between 1,000 and 7,000 pounds per square inch (psi). The pressurized spray cleans a variety of surfaces. It can be used to clean cars or wash driveways and patios. Knowing use a pressure washer is important, as soft surfaces, paint finishes and porous materials can be damaged by the force. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Pull back the locking mechanism on the pressure washer's female coupling. Attach the male coupling on the pressure-washer hose to the female coupling on the pressure washer.

2. Attach the male coupling of the pressure-washer gun to the female coupling of the pressure-washer hose.

3. Attach a pressure-washing tip suitable for the surface you're going to clean. Use tips that have a wide spray on soft surfaces, such as plastic and wood, and tips with a narrow spray on hard surfaces such as rocks and steel.

4. Attach one end of the garden hose to a water source and the other end to the pressure washer.

5. Plug the pressure washer into a grounded power outlet using an extension cord if the machine is electric powered. Start the machine, if it's gas powered.

6. Put on a pair of safety glasses, waterproof work gloves, a rain coat, rain paints, rain boots and a rain hat. Wear these items to protect yourself from flying debris and to stay dry. A pair of ear plugs will reduce the noise of the pressure washer.

7. Hold the tip of the spray gun about 3 feet away from the surface to be cleaned, then pull its handle until water sprays out.

8. Move the spray tip closer until you see the pressurized water cleaning the surface. Make a mental note of the distance at which you are holding the tip of the gun away from the surface. This is a safe cleaning distance. If you hold the pressure washer closer to the surface, you may cause damage.

9. Pressure wash the surface from the top of the area to the bottom or from one side to the other. Always push dirty water away from cleaned surfaces.
