Care For Car Paint After Rain

Clean your car with soap and vinegar after the rain.

If your car gets covered with dried-on water spots after the rain, you need to use a strong cleaning routine that gets all of the spots off of the paint without causing damage to the vehicle surface. Your basic car wash solution gets off light buildup, but a more thorough cleaning is required for the mineral-based water spots that have dried and left behind the cloudy film. Luckily there is an inexpensive item that will allow you to do this with ease. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Fill a cleaning bucket with your normal car wash solution, using about 1 tbsp. car wash soap per gallon of water.

2. Pre-rinse the car with your hose, and dip a sponge into the cleaning solution. Wipe the soapy mixture all over the car and rinse off with the hose.

3. Saturate a cleaning rag with white vinegar, and wipe over any dried-on water spots. Continue across the car paint until all spots are removed.

4. Rinse the car with the hose and dry with a clean rag to prevent new water spots.

5. Apply a layer of car wax if the paint looks dull. Follow the instructions on the wax container for application instructions based on the product you are using.
