Install A Diaper Sprayer

A diaper sprayer allows washing of cloth diapers in the toilet. Available in a standard metallic design or in shapes that appeal to children, it is easy and convenient to install and use. A high quality diaper sprayer includes a valve that regulates the pressure of water directed to the sprayer so that the toilet tank fills quickly and fittings are the standard 3/4-inch size for most U.S. toilet plumbing. However, 5 percent of U.S. homes are plumbed with 1/2-inch pipes, for which a simple adapter is also necessary. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Turn off the toilet water valve. Use pliers to remove the existing hose that connects the toilet water valve with the tank.

2. Connect the diaper spray valve hose end with the wider of the two nuts to the threaded fitting on the toilet tank. Tighten the large metal nut which connects to the tank using an adjustable wrench.

3. Connect a 1/2-inch to 3/4-inch adapter to the toilet valve threads if necessary. Connect the remaining end of the hose either to the adapter threads or directly to the toilet valve threads if no adapter is necessary. Tighten the hose nut with a wrench.

4. Connect the sprayer hose to the threaded fitting on the pressure control valve of the sprayer hose. Tighten the connecting nut with a wrench.

5. Turn on the water supply to the toilet tank. Test the sprayer.
