Billy Cook barrel saddles are specifically made for barrel racing.


Billy Cook saddles are a line of saddles designed and manufactured by Billy Cook in Oklahoma. The line includes a wide variety of saddles that are manufactured in different colors, styles and configurations. This variety takes into consideration the comfort of riders, size of horse breeds and different riding activities. Barrel saddles are one component of the line that is specifically used for competitive and recreational barrel racers.


15-inch Half Breed Basket Barrel Racer


The 15-inch Half Breed Basket Barrel Racer saddle is constructed with a rawhide covering and quarter horse bars. The seat size is 15 inches and the saddle weighs 29 lbs. The saddle features a waffle wheat border, 2-inch bell rawhide laced stirrups and an artificial wool-lined skirt. The skirt measures 25 inches in length and the rigging is in a 0.875-inch position. The candle is made of a 5-inch rawhide overlay, which is complemented by a 13-inch tooled swell and a 1.75-inch rawhide braided horn.


Half Breed Barrel


The Half Breed Barrel Saddle has a 15-inch padded quilt seat and a weight of 27 lbs. The tree is rawhide covered with a quarter horse bar and gullet. The 1.75-inch horn, 13-inch silver laced swell and 5-inch Cheyenne rolled cantle are just a few of the distinctive features of the saddle. The rigging is positioned at 0.875 inches on the 25.5 inch, artificial wool-lined skirt. The tooled stirrups measure 2 inches and come with a stirrup bolt. The saddle pattern is half-breed Texas Oak.


Barrel Racing


The Barrel Racing Saddle is available in three quilted seat sizes to include 13.5 inches, 14 inches or 15 inches. The tree is rawhide covered and supported by quarter horse bars. The saddle weighs 25 lbs. and features a basket stamped half-breed pattern. The saddle has a 13-inch undercut swell, 1.75-inch rawhide braided horn and a 5-inch rawhide silver laced cantle. The skirt is lined with artificial fleece and has a length of 24.5 inches. The rigging is set at a 0.875 inch position on the skirt. The final details include a 2-inch bell, rawhide laced stirrups and a 21-strand cinch.


Tack


Billy Cook also manufactures headstalls, breast straps, reins and flank straps that are used alone or in conjunction with the barrel saddles. The tack is available in the same pattern, color and style of the saddle. The materials used for the tack are the same materials as the saddle, which allows all gear to wear evenly for prediction of replacement needs.
