Homemade Tool Holder Insert

Organize a workspace with simple tool holders.

Organization is the key to a functioning, productive workbench. Tools that are organized in simple homemade tool holder inserts can maximize efficiency, reduce frustration and keep a shop working smoothly. Homemade tool holders can also extend the longevity of tools by preventing accidental breakage or misplacement. Quick assembly for homemade tool holder inserts means less time spent cleaning up and more time working on the projects that really matter. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Measure the length of the handle of the tool to be held. Measure that length onto a piece of PVC pipe, using a pencil to mark where the pipe will need to be cut. Use a hacksaw to cut the pipe at the desired length and sandpaper to smooth the ends.

2. Glue a flat PVC cap to one end of the pipe segment. Hold the cap in place for 30 seconds and allow the glue to dry for at least an hour.

3. Place the tool holder insert inside a tool bag or box to hold tools upright. Create a free-standing tool holder by gluing the capped end to a flat surface or by gluing the side of the PVC tool holder to the edge of a surface, such as a wall or workbench edge.
